Element table - Viewing and editing the assigned parameters governing  the preparation of design code checks and the selection of calculation methods

SettingDescription
Element Number of the current element
Upper table: General governing parameters
SettingDescription
Elem Element number - increasing order
Type Element type (see type assignment pad 3300)
Fibre Switch, whether any fiber stress check is done for this element or not
Ult Switch, whether any ultimate capacity check is done for this element or not
Shear Switch, whether any shear capacity check is done for this element or not
RCD Switch, whether any reinforcement design is done for this element or not
Crack Switch, whether any crack width check is done for this element or not
Robust Switch, whether any robustness check is done for this element or not
Fatig Switch, whether any fatigue check is done for this element or not
Steel Switch, whether any steel check (design resistance and actual proof check) is done for this element or not
NLMat Switch, whether any non-linear material properties are considered for this element or not (when Non-linear material has been selected in the Recalc pad)
FEM Switch, whether any specified FEM definitions are considered for this  element or not.
Theta  Angle of the effective concrete compression strut in shear capacity check
  • Auto: Angle is automatically calculated to minimize shear reinforcement (taking into account the allowable range according to the selected design code).
  • User: Angle is user defined (at element begin and end)
  • UA: User defined at element begin and automatic at element end
  • AU: Automatic at element begin and user defined at element end
PDelta Switch, whether any stiffness reduction due to p-delta effects is considered for this element (when P-Delta effect has been selected in the Recalc pad) (to switch off the p-Delta effect of continuously laterally restrained elements).
b-beg Total web-width reduction for the shear capacity check at element begin (reduction due to ducts of prestressing tendons in the web). Only required if tendons are  grouped together, automatic reduction is performed if all tendons are individually defined.
b-end Total web-width reduction for the shear capacity check at element end.  In case of multiple webs, aliquot parts of b-beg and b-end will be subtracted from the  total widths of the individual webs.
Class  Defining tensile behavior of parts of composite elements
  • Normal: Partial element can carry tensile forces
  • No-tension: Partial element cannot carry tensile forces
Lower table: Existing attribute sets defining reinforcement
SettingDescription
Group Name of the attribute set
RefSetType Type of the assigned reference set
Start  Code for the reinforcement amount at element begin
  • Fix: Reinforcement amount user defined (fix)
  • Var: Reinforcement amount is a calculation result (reinforcement design)
End Code for the reinforcement amount at element end
A1 User-defined reinforcement amount.
Note: Up to 2 values can be defined for A1 depending on the type of the reference set
Reinforcement Type No. of Values Description of Values
Bending 1 total reinforcement area
Longitudinal 1 total reinforcement area
Shear long 2 reinforcement area bottom and top
Shear web 1 required shear reinforcement (total per length)
Torsion 2 At: stirrups, Al: longitudinal torsion reinforcement
A2 Calculated (additionally to A1 required) reinforcement amount

Additional values are output under A2 depending on the type of the reference set

  • Shear long.:  Angles of compression struts for positive and negative moment
  • Shear web:   Required amount due to shear and due to shear + torsion, utilization factor for concrete compression strut for shear and shear+torsion, angle of concrete compression strut
  • Torsion:       utilization factor for concrete compression strut, angle of concrete compression strut
